Amanece (Day Is Breaking)

This series was made in the early morning hours along Swampscott's Atlantic shoreline, before the town awakens and the day begins. Working at the edge of Massachusetts Bay, I photograph the brief interval between night and dawn, a transitional light that is both fleeting and visually distinct.

The work focuses on natural stillness: the quiet surface of the ocean, shifting pastel tones in the pre-dawn sky, and the occasional passage of birds whose silhouettes mark the emerging light. These elements are documented with attention to atmosphere, timing, and composition.

The subject is not dramatic transformation but subtle change, the kind that occurs daily and often goes unnoticed. Each image reflects a moment of pause at the start of a new day, grounded in a specific place and a recurring practice of observation.

This body of work explores the intersection of landscape, light, and time along the New England coast.
